Former Doctor Charged with Sexual Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Patients
Prosecutors have stated that a former doctor has been charged with committing sexual assaults against thirty-eight victims who were patients.
Details of the Serious Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous sexual offences – comprising acts against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A deputy chief CPS official stated, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
These allegations come after what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant will appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
Breakdown of Charges
Prosecutors said the 45 charges he is charged with:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
