Los Angeles experienced widespread celebrations after the Dodgers clinched a thrilling seven-game World Series championship. Fans across the globe united with Angelenos in celebration, marking the first time in a quarter-century that a team has secured back-to-back championships.

Victory Parade Draws Enormous Crowds

Los Angeles area events included a downtown parade on Monday morning, a reserved-seating event at Dodger Stadium, and impromptu gatherings throughout the city.

Social media videos show thousands of Angelenos flooding city center avenues, many carrying handmade banners and Dodger flags. The team was seen riding high on a open-top bus through the crowds, raising the Commissioner’s trophy proudly.

“My focus is already about the next championship we’re going to do this,” Shohei Ohtani stated through an interpreter.

The procession path ended at Dodger Stadium, where the players walked out to the rapper’s “Not Like Us,” with the renowned DJ spinning music and Ice Cube driving a light blue vintage Cadillac around the stadium’s outfield.

Early Celebrations and Athlete Responses

Festivities began well before the procession, with supporters setting off flares in the roads of the city center on the previous evening.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto, awarded the MVP of the championship, spoke plainly about the win.

“Losing is not an option,” Yamamoto said. “I love the Dodgers. This city means everything to me.”

Varied Responses and Community Spirit

However, the team owner was met with a cooler reception at the celebration. Recordings from the event appear to show him taking the stage to a combination of cheers and boos, with negative shouts punctuating his speech.

The World Series served as a positive moment in what has been a trying year for Los Angeles. An approximate quarter-million people showed up to the Dodgers’ victory parade last year, and according to team member Freddie Freeman, supporters this year showed equal or greater support.

“It seems it’s almost double from last year,” he remarked. “The supporters are incredible. It’s truly amazing to be a part of this.”
